OffGrid Construction
I have designed this house through years of being in construction. It will be one of the worlds greenest homes and will be hosted by HGTV show and other media outlets.
This is an 8 sided octagon shaped house designed for better air flow and heat distribution. It will have ICF (insulated concrete form) walls and the roofing system will be made from similar construction with a mesh/rebar Styrofoam ICPs (3D insulated concrete panels) with a spray on concrete finish (shotcrete). The icing on the cake is this new spray-on environmentally friendly polymer shell. This product is very similar to the truck bed liner spray. The spray-on outer shell should last more than a hundreds years.
I will be using a Geothermal chamber under the house with positive negative airflow and unique ventilation techniques. The radiant floor heating will be tide into solar panels, an external fire boiler system and propane fire place with heat exchanger as the backup floor system.
This house will also be equipped with a unique 9 volt LED mirror lighting system, laminating the majority of the dwelling using very little energy. The placement of windows will be based on passive solar for radiant walls, incorporating Living walls for air purification and quality. Power from wind and solar will be using the grid as a storing device. Koffle Offen old European fireplace will utilize all the heat energy generated from a fire.
I hope this gives you an idea of the project. It is still in the planning stages. The building site will be in Pefferlaw Ontario just south of Lake Simcoe and we are hoping to break ground by June 2009.
I'm in need of $400,000.00. The first prototype will cost a bit more but our main goal is to provide affordable Totally Green housing which will last for generations.
