Responsibilities:
As a Ecology Group Director and Practice Leader, the candidate will be expected to:
- Provide technical leadership in the fields of biology, ecology and ecological risk assessment, including study design; client relationships; regulatory interaction; business development; and leadership of group of eight ecologists;
- Develop positive relationships with existing clients and develop new clients;
- Prepare proposals and design work plans in response to client needs;
- Team building and leadership;
- Provide supervision, training and mentoring of intermediate and junior staff;
- Manage projects and tasks and deliver high quality reports on time and within budget;
- Prepare and deliver presentations at meetings, conferences, seminars, and workshops;
- Provide senior review of technical reports, proposals and communications; and
- Be an active participant in the growth and success of the office.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- M.S. or Ph.D. in biology, ecology, or related discipline;
- Demonstrated capability to develop clients and have establish a practice;
- Minimum of 10 years experience in the environmental consulting industry;
- Experience with environmental permitting and technical report writing for environmental assessments and compliance to meet federal and state regulatory requirements, international environmental assessment experience a plus;
- Demonstrated commitment to providing high quality service to clients within budget and time constraints, in a professional consulting environment;
- Experience managing and coordinating multi-disciplinary consulting projects;
- Excellent technical writing, communication and project management skills;
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills;
- Demonstrated initiative and creative thinking skills;
- Strong team player and ability to work within a multidisciplinary organization;
- Detail oriented with emphasis on quality of work;
